Why do we work with steel?

Steel is a versatile and durable material widely used in construction, manufacturing and various industrial applications. Here are some key benefits of using steel:

  • Steel offers greater durability, which can translate into longer-lasting products that require less frequent replacement. This durability can offset some of the environmental costs of production.

  • Steel can be fabricated into a wide range of shapes and sizes, which allows for creative and flexible designs.

  • Steel is one of the most recyclable materials in the world. It can be recycled repeatedly without losing its properties, which significantly reduces the environmental impact of its production. Modern steel plants also often use recycled materials as a primary input, which conserves resources and reduces the carbon footprint of new steel.

What are the benefits of powder coat?

Powder coating is a popular finishing technique for steel and other metals, offering a range of benefits that include enhanced durability, a variety of aesthetic options, and environmental advantages.

Durability and Corrosion Resistance

Powder coating adds a tough, durable finish to steel, significantly extending the lifespan of products. This protective layer helps prevent rust, corrosion. The increased durability means that powder-coated products require less maintenance and are less likely to need replacing.

Environmental Impact

Sustainable practices help protect our planet’s resources, reduce pollution, and ensure a healthier future for generations to come. Here’s how we play our part.

  • Unlike traditional liquid finishes, powder coatings do not contain solvents and emit negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs contribute to air pollution and pose health risks to humans. By reducing VOC emissions, powder coating helps in creating a safer and cleaner environment.

  • Powder coating allows for a more efficient application process where excess powder can be recycled and reused. This nearly 100% usage rate minimizes waste associated with the coating process.

  • The curing process of powder coating typically requires lower temperatures compared to traditional paint baking. This can result in energy savings during production.

Our Design and Production Process

At Safran Everyday, our design process is all about simplicity, function, and beauty. Here’s how we bring it all together.

  • Each design starts with a need—something that works well and looks good. Using Rhino, I focus on what’s essential, cutting out the excess to create minimalist pieces that are both practical and visually striking.

  • Once a design is in place, we test and tweak it through prototypes, ensuring it’s both functional and aesthetically pleasing without overcomplicating the process.

  • After finalizing the design, we use precise laser cutting to bring each part to life. Advanced forming techniques ensure everything fits perfectly and functions just as intended.

  • The last step is powder coating, which adds color and durability. It’s an eco-friendly process that ensures our products are as tough as they are beautiful.

At every step, the goal is simple: create pieces that are both elegant and built to last. We’re committed to quality, function, and minimalism in everything we make.
